I have just updated both iPhone and iPad versions of this app to be universal so they work on both devices. I've also added the Overplay and Astrill VPN pages to the iPad layouts.

Just a quick post to keep folks updated.

iOS 8 has broken the SSL (https) in this app. I am working on a fix now but in the mean time you may have to just use http if you wish to keep using the current version of the app.

Thanks

Version 2.2.2 is hitting the App Store now that should fix all the iOS 8 connectivity issues.

I've also added the ability to add Home Screen Shortcuts for the MAC Filter, which means those of you with naughty kids have a 1 touch button to block them from the internet Smile

Great app!

PM if you want it translated to Swedish.

Any chance for a SSH client?

PM sent. Thanks.

I've been asked a lot for an SSH client. I'm not actually sure how to implement one.
It's been on my todo list for a long time but I can't say if it's something that'll get added or not sorry.

brilliant app. testing the free version now, and if i like it i'll certainly buy the payed one.

Some feedback.
1. at home the router ip is 9 out of 10 times the gateway address the iphone gets via wifi/dhcp. maybe prefill that value, when adding a router?

2. that help button sits on the spot you'd expect the save button. I tapped it before i realized it was a help button and was pretty annoyed i clicked it so fast. Might be more logical to make that the apply button, and put the help button upper right?

Finally: if i want to use it on both my ipad and iphone, can i just buy the HD version, or do i have to buy both?

edit:

some more things:

- option to reset to the default app colour (after tinkering with it, i try to find a method to return to the orignial color.
- <nitpicking> cancel button on the app pass code page? now i have to supply a code (twice), before i can turn off the feature again.

as you supply telnet access, i now understand why people ask for ssh access. opening the session in another (free?) ssh client/app might be an interim solution? no idea if apps can call each other in IOS though.

Hi Johnny,

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you like it.

1, Good point. I shall have to look into seeing if the access point is visible from within a sandboxed app. I know Apple killed the ability to obtain the MAC address, I'm not sure about anything else.

2, Which screen are you talking about? If it's the 'Add Router' screen, are you on about the top i button or the bottom 'Connection Help' button?
Maybe the connection help button should be right at the bottom of the screen and maybe borderless. I'll have a play around.

3, Both versions are exactly the same now. I decided to merge them into 1 universal app but there is no way for me to remove one from the App Store whilst still providing updates to those that purchased just the removed one. So the only choice I have right now is to leave both up for sale so users of both can get future updates.
I suggest you buy the none HD version as if I find a way to remove one, I'd remove the HD one, but then again I'd only do that if it didn't affect those that bought it anyway.

ok thanks for the swift reply.
added some extra remarks above. the help button on the add router page was what i meant indeed. The user flow is top to bottom, so the bottom button implies the end of the actions (thus save/commit), instead you need to scroll up again and click save there.

I know i'm nitpicking, but i always watch for logical usage "flows" in applications.

I've moved and changed the button a little, to hopefully stop any confusion.

I've spent all morning trying to find a way to get the access point ip address, but all I can currently find is the ip address of the phone itself. I could do with this feature for another app i'm working on, so i'll update this app if I get a solution. Maybe I won't auto fill it though, but i'll use it as the textfield placeholder text instead of the current 192.168.x.x

You wouldn't believe how long it's frustrated me when i've changed the background colour of the app and I didn't even think to add a button to return it to default. DONE.

I see you point about the cancel button on the pin page. Not a priority, but i'll get around to it one day (I'm currently working on another app).

iOS app's can call other apps if the other app is set up to receive. Eg. This app is set up to be called by the url dd-wrt:// and is used for the home screen shortcuts for WOL, Reboot & MAC Filter. This can be called from anywhere in the system.
There would be many different url's needed for different SSH client apps. Unless there's a specific favourite that is used and is free?

Thanks

Darren

I'm looking for some beta testers to add to the beta group.

Send me your email address if interested.

Thanks

I've had a couple of people report connection error's in the last few days with newer dd-wrt builds.

I have pushed a fix for this to my beta group and it should hit the App Store in a week or 2 (Apple's approval delay).

JohnnySL, I've now managed to get the gateway address Smile

Would you like to take a look at the Beta?
