I'll add that I'm affected by this as well. Have been chasing this around for years, including trying to figure out how to deal with all of Comcast's DSCP tagging. *Way* more familiar with this issue than I ever wanted to be.
However, I am running one of Fractal's mini builds (22786) for the E1200, and I don't see xt_DSCP.ko in the filesystem - so I don't think I'm able to test the fix. I'm open to suggestions as to what build to load up on it if somebody has one - My E1200 is a hardware rev 2, if that helps.

I use a WRT310Nv2 and DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) mini...
My bandwidth was recently upgraded to 50mb with Time Warner (which was Comcast a few years ago). They sent me a replacement modem that they claim is capable of providing me the boost in bandwidth that their current lease modem is not.
They sent me an Arris DG1670A. With it (wired) I can get the claimed 50mbps.
However, when I set it to bridge mode and connect it to my Linksys/DD-WRT I'm restricted to 3mbps-19mbps. I've tried the fixes on this thread and am unable to achieve anything higher than 19mbps.
I can't find answers anywhere else, or they all point to this thread... and I'm not savvy enough to try the more advanced methods of fixing it.
Anyone have any clues/hints/pointers for me to be able to fix the issues with my bandwidth?

Try the latest factory firmware. _________________ Hope that helps,

DD-WRT 21676 K26 Mini, Kong 22000++, Kong 25015-SP1, and 26138
Loaded the kern module and executed the iptables dscp mask.
Verified all traffic dscp fields are now 0 via wireshark.
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/24/10) std-usb-nas - build 15962
Verified Egress traffic was dscp 0 while ingress traffic was dscp 8 prior to the above fixes an 0 after the fixes.
I can report no change in perf. I have a Comcast Internet (50 Mbps Blast) package and am seeing average traffic dl at around 19Mbps. Uploads are at 12Mbps.

Thank you! This solved my problem after I just about went crazy trying to figure out what was wrong.
I've been using DD-WRT for years, and had never seen anything like this. I recently moved my parents to Comcast and their wired speeds were what I expected, but WiFi download was around 0.5 Mbps.
I applied this fix (didn't need to load the DSCP module, and it's nowhere in the firmware - 21676) and WiFi speeds are now where they belong - 25 Mbps.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed in some build of ddwrt? The iptables workaround works, but I'd like a build where the driver didn't have this problem and I didn't need the workaround. Anyone?

hi
i am trying to correct any issue with ny E3200 using comcast. i found info on this site to update my router. when i run telnet it says it cant connect on port 23.
please help
As of 2023, Comcast still sends bad DSCP marking to customers. Good news is, the fix is built-in DDWRT and FreshTomato.
You will find these options enabled by default:
DD: Firewall -> Filter TOS/DSCP
FT: Firewall -> Enable DSCP Fix for Comcast
HOWEVER, Firewall in DD and FT are only effective in DEFAULT GATEWAY MODE! I had these 4 conditions:
1. Main gateway does not have DSCP fix. (OpenWRT)
2. DD or FT run in DUMB AP/SWITCH MODE (no firewall)
3. Wifi WMM=on
4. Wifi driver is vulnerable to DSCP (e.g. BCM43217 in Linksys EA6400 is vulnerable, but BCM4360 in EA6900 is ok)
I spent years of time chasing this problem. Just didn't understand why 2.4G wifi is terrible as soon as I change to AP mode. Finally I came to realize the comcast DSCP issue. As soon as I added "iptables" command to the main gateway, all problems in APs are solved.
But apparently DD-WRT may not completely address the problem (for IPv6):
