For the bravest; this image might work on v8.1. DON'T USE ON ANY OTHER ROUTER!

If it works, and you can access GUI, do not proceed any further, just do http://192.168.1.1/backup/cfe.bin and send us the file.

@Sash,

Do not follow the instructions for other Gv8's, this firmware should only be flash via the Linksys Web Gui upgrade page, nothing else is needed. Do not use KILLER or PREP on the Gv8.1 !!!!

Thats what I thought, I only poseted it because it could mis-lead new members, they might use the instructions posted on the link you provided.

I followed the normal "flash with web gui" instructions, which appeared to run normally. The browser displayed a "cannot access" error rather than an upload-was-successful page. I waited a few minutes and reloaded, resulting in the dd-wrt control panel. the backup/cfe.bin ran fine, and I am attaching the file.

(I'm new here, and this is the first time I've installed dd-wrt (how's that for brave? Smile, so I have no idea what I'm doing. Let me know if you need anything else.)

What do I do now? The box looks like it's running fine, but I'm afraid to touch it lest it blow up in m' face. Very Happy

gpio poll 6 responds 01, then prints 00 when I press the "Cisco" logo on the front and 01 when I release it.

gpio poll 7 responds 01, then prints 00 when I press the reset button and 01 when I release it.

gpio poll 0-5 show 01 with no changes, and poll 8 shows 00, again with no changes.

gpio enable/disable 0 does not do anything.

gpio disable 1 turns the power led on.
gpio enable 1 turns the power led off.

gpio disable 2 turns the dmz led on.
gpio enable 2 turns the dms led off.

gpio disable 3 turns the "Cisco" logo white led on.
gpio enable 3 turns the "Cisco" logo white led off.

gpio disable 4 turns the "Cisco" logo yellow led on.
gpio enable 4 turns the "Cisco" logo yellow led off.

gpio enable/disable 5, 6, 7, and 8 do not do anything.

New files: use ...wrt54gv81.bin for initial upgrade from Linksys's firmware only, use normal micro (NEWD) image for GUI upgrade when already running dd-wrt.
