Thanks I restored it to the original firmware.

By the way, which file are you currently using?
Is dd-wrt.v24-10414_NEWD_micro-plus.bin ?

I also see dd-wrt.v24-10431_NEWD_micro-plus.bin

in "
http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/V24_TNG/svn10431 "

Please let me know.
Thanks

Micro plus is ONLY for routers with a compressed CFE file. See Redhawks sticky, above.

Depends whether you are with original firmware or not. Do some research on whether the latest builds work. See this thread

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=159124#159124

And Redhawks thread about CFE compressors.

I don't like to recommend which version to use with a router I don't have.

People say the 8.1 can run micro-plus directly. Some routers already have compressed CFE.

See http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Micro-plus#Devices_known_to_have_a_128K_CFE_.28stock.29

I've tried the following:
dd-wrtv24-10305_NEW_micro-plus.bin
dd-wrtv24-10404_NEW_micro-plus.bin
dd-wrtv24-10431_NEW_micro-plus.bin

none of them seem stable to me.
It freezes in the Web GUI.

Now I cann't tftp to original version, it give error
but I can ping 192.168.1.1

Can I restore the orginal linksys firmware using Web GUI ?
THanks.

You will have to reinstall vxworks, I believe, prior to flashing.

Are you sure that you did a HARD reset of the router, after flashing the firmware? Be sure to clear your browser's cache too.

BAD dog! Bad.

Laughing

(Be sure to do a HARD 30-30-30 reset, not a little push button or power cycle reset)

Just a FYI. The G v8.1 does not run vxworks. You can tell by the fact is has 128K CFE and does not require vxworks killer (vxworks routers have BSP instead of CFE).

No problem. I just wanted to post that little bit of info for the benefit of anyone who owns this router.

It's easy to be confused. Both the WRT54G version 8.0 and 8.2 run vxworks from the factory, but 8.1 does not (it runs Linux) :?

If you really need original firmware, you might want to ask Eko how to get it back to stock. I assume it will take it via web interface or TFTP, but I can't say for certain.
