I added a Netcast capable Blu-ray player (LG BD590) to my entertainment center and added it to my home network via a Client Bridge with two WRT54G DD-WRT flashed routers, one primary, and one client bridged. Worked great with G radio but I wanted to step up to N. After a little online research for cheap and small N routers I found Asus RT-N12 for under $30 and bought two, one on eBay and the other from Newegg.com. (Plug for Newegg, ships standard UPS, very fast at my door in 3 days). I flashed both with dd-wrt.v24-14896_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N12.trx. Sweet! Flawless flash, no issues.

I was reading in the wiki for this router that there were issues with it dropping out in the client bridged configuration and it had to do with wireless TX power was set higher than 20. Maybe that was a problem with older builds because I noticed with the build I flashed, 14896, TX power is 17 by default. Encryption is WPA personal TKIP, that’s about it. Routers have been online for about 3 hours now streaming Pandora internet radio with no problems.

Configured client bridged per instructions DD-WRT wiki mainpage / Linking Routers / Client Bridged. Not wireless client bridge and not a repeater bridge because I did not want to lose any radio bandwidth, I want all I can get. I hope this wiki will be of some help to someone who wants to use these routers in this type of configuration. And thanks to all the folks at dd-wrt.com , the guru’s, the tutorials all very much appreciated.
