Got the serial cable. Tried interfacing using putty but seem to get gibberish characters output. Unrecoverable brick?

Only way of starting a tftp transfer is by using a serial terminal.

Did you set the network interface of the computer to static ip and use an ip on the same subnet and netmask as those you tested?

You could try to setup a real tftp server on your computer, tftpd32 by P.Jounin (google it), using the same ip addresses as I listed before.

The bootloader has the ip address 10.10.10.123 and it expects a tftp file transfer from a computer with ip 10.10.10.3
