With RT-68u and r55363 build I had a following problems:
a) Wifi clients (Mobile Phone Xiaomi Note 11 Pro) could not renew their DHCP lease properly (at least this was my understanding, as the phone had IP and was connected to router, but not tu the internet), resulting "No internet" moaning. I increased the lease time as per suggested here in forums, but this just increased the time-span between drops.
b) Ethernet clients seemed to have a similar issue: the connections from the router dropped quite quickly -- the IP address and connection between router and client stayed intact, but internet connection was lost. This affected the Ethernet connected Smart TV as well as my secondary dd-wrt AP for increasing Wifi coverage.
At the moment I am back to ISP firmware rotuer Inteno DG301 (i.e no dd-wrt there), where the up- and download speeds are about 25-30% lower than I had with dd-wrt Asus RT-ac68u, but the client connections are again stable.

I admit, that I meddled with DNS settings. However the problem with mobile phone losing internet over wifi connection as well as problems with secondary router staying connected started from fresh install (dd-wrt freshly flashed into RT-AC68U).
That's true that using ipv6 was problematic. So I turned ipv6 on quite early ( My ISP uses both ipv4 and ipv6 and I tried to replicate ISP settings), but I had to turn it off quite soon. I take it that is quite possible that the problems might have been the settings issue rather than the issue of particular dd-wrt version.
DD-WRT is a superb software -- thank you! Sometimes it is just difficult to get all the settings correctly...
Yes, a DNS issue indeed. And probably not taking certain setting recommendations with a grain of salt (i.e. wifi) and not understanding how to configure DD-WRT in general.

every fw has its own problems... DNS RA is problematic with radvd and Android clients... what I would suggest to you is to disable radvd from ddwrt ipv6 gui tab and use dnsmasq for ipv6 RA and dhcpv6...
for dnsmasq additional option I would suggest these:

Stability Details: Has been stable even as I broke VAPs testing work arounds for a broadcom firmware bug in repeater mode.
Functioning work around: 5Gz Repeater serving the necessarily unbridged 5GHz VAP on the same radio, with a L2Mesh bridge to compensate. The 2.4Ghz does not repeat, so is bridged normally. Br0 is avoided, VLANS are paired with VAPs, and isolated from other pairs with iptables rules. The 5Ghz VAP L2Mesh seems to function the same as normal bridging once all the detailed settings and firewall rules are right.
P.S. Thanks, this software has been helping me learn networking in a practical way.
Edit: So "L2Mesh Bridge" in this 'improper' configuration turned out not to be stable. The whole router would be unresponsive for a moment intermittently. Could be 20 seconds or 4 seconds Seemed it would come back quicker when the routers external fans were running higher but temperatures seemed normal when checked, odd.
So I give up on testing "L2Mesh Bridge" and I switched to proper routing. I noticed I could not simply uncheck the radio button "L2Mesh Bridge Enable" even after setting "L2Mesh Bridge" to "None" and deleting all the associated bridges it would still intermittently cut out till I reset and started from scratch.
It should be assumed that this instability in this improper configuration, was there from the start, but was not noticed as the fans were on and I was not gaming. I had upgraded and am now on r55678.
