Also in times my HP Mini PC has nothing to do, the CPU is not going under 800 MHz.
does anyone know why and if I can change this?

Code:
CPU Model   Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G4400T @ 2.90GHz
CPU Cores   2
CPU Features   FPU MMX SSE SSE2 SSSE3 SSE4.1 SSE4.2 AES-NI HT NX
CPU Clock   800.033 MHz
Load Average   0%   0.00, 0.02, 0.00
Temperatures   CPU 32.0 °C

Mine has been doing this too. With an i7 4770k with a base clock of 3.5GHz but it will eventually drop to 800MHz after some time has passed. This will not harm a CPU btw.

The background of my question is to save energy so I would like the CPU go down to 100 MHz or so if idle, like the my PC CPU is doing.

Simply switch it off and the processor will even clock at 0MHz!

Seriously, the processor will not support it at all.
I am not aware of any Intel processors that can clock lower than 400MHz in Low Frequency Mode (LFM).

With my Intel processor, 800Mhz is the minimum!

I didn't had this on my radar, but you are right.
For my cpu, bus frequency is 100 MHz and the possible Multipliers are between 8 and 29 so 800 MHz is the lowest my CPU can go.

Thx
